Hsuan-chi Chen was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan and currently works and lives in San Francisco, California, USA. She received her BFA in commercial design from Chung-Yuan University, Taiwan and her MFA in painting from Academy of Art University, San Francisco, CA, USA.

Hsuan-chi Chen is focusing on contemporary figurative paintings. She continues to refine her work with her thoughts. She currently lives in San Francisco working on paintings that draw from her past and reflect the themes that are a constant in her life.
